Q  1. (a) ‘The villagers believe in superstitions to explain the scorpion’s sting. What does this tell us about the role of tradition in shaping people’s perspectives?   

Ans– The villagers’ belief in superstitions shows that tradition strongly influences people’s thinking. Instead of scientific explanations, they rely on long-held cultural beliefs to understand events like the scorpion’s sting. This reflects how traditions shape perceptions, guide reactions, and affect decision-making, showing that inherited beliefs often determine how communities interpret unusual or dangerous situations.

 

Q 2. (b) If you are asked a difficult question in an interview that you don’t know the answer to, how should you handle the situation?

Ans – If faced with a difficult question in an interview, stay calm and confident. Admit honestly if you don’t know the answer, but show willingness to learn or reason through the problem. You can ask for clarification or share how you would approach finding a solution. Honesty and a positive attitude leave a good impression.

 

Q 3. (a) What strategies can hospitals and healthcare institutions implement to ensure better biomedical waste management?

Ans- Hospitals can ensure better biomedical waste management by segregating waste at the source, using color-coded bins, and following proper disposal methods. Regular staff training, maintaining records, and using sterilization or incineration techniques help reduce hazards. Monitoring compliance, adopting eco-friendly practices, and collaborating with certified waste disposal agencies ensure safe, effective, and environmentally responsible biomedical waste management.

 

Q 4. (a) Mary Kom faced many challenges on her journey to success. What qualities helped her overcome these obstacles? How can we apply similar determination in our own lives?

Ans- Mary Kom faced financial difficulties, societal pressure, and limited opportunities, yet her determination, discipline, and hard work helped her succeed. She showed courage in pursuing her passion despite obstacles and remained focused on her goals.

Her perseverance, resilience, and positive attitude allowed her to overcome failures and keep moving forward. We can apply similar determination in our lives by setting clear goals, staying motivated, and facing challenges with courage. Embracing hard work, learning from setbacks, and believing in ourselves can help us achieve success, just as Mary Kom did in her inspiring journey.

 

Q 5. (b) Andha Yug explores themes of morality and the consequences of war. How does the play depict the ethical dilemmas faced by its characters? How are these dilemmas relevant to modern society? 

Ans- Andha Yug portrays the moral struggles of characters in the aftermath of the Mahabharata war. Leaders and warriors face ethical dilemmas, balancing duty, justice, and revenge, often choosing between equally difficult options.

The play shows how war blurs right and wrong, forcing individuals to confront the consequences of their actions. These dilemmas remain relevant today, as modern society also faces moral challenges in leadership, conflict, and decision-making, reminding us to act responsibly and consider the impact of our choices on others.

 

Q 6. (a) Spend a day communicating only face-to-face without using text messages or social media. Document your experiences and challenges. How did this change your interactions and relationships?

Ans- Spending an entire day communicating only face-to-face, without using text messages or social media, was an eye-opening experience. In the morning, I realized how much I relied on digital communication for convenience. Initially, I felt a sense of anxiety, worrying about how I would inform friends and family about my day or respond to urgent messages. Instead, I had to plan my interactions and prioritize whom I wanted to speak with directly.

During the day, I noticed subtle differences in communication. Without the buffer of screens, I paid more attention to body language, facial expressions, and tone of voice. Conversations became deeper and more meaningful, as I had to listen actively and respond thoughtfully. I also felt a stronger sense of presence during interactions, making me more empathetic and understanding.

However, there were challenges. Coordinating plans took longer, and I sometimes missed instant updates or information that I would normally receive through messages. At times, I felt isolated, especially when friends or colleagues were not available in person.

By the end of the day, I realized that face-to-face communication strengthened my relationships. I felt more connected, and my conversations were richer and more genuine. This experience taught me the importance of balancing digital communication with personal interaction. It reminded me that being fully present with others fosters trust, understanding, and stronger bonds—something that social media or texting often cannot achieve.
